Hearts First Bike Ride Round The
Harbours . Summary
: Now in its third year the BHF is running this exciting bike ride around
the Portsmouth & Langstone Harbours. A unique event as the event includes
two ferry rides which adds to the excitement! .
Description : This lovely ride is
suitable for all the family to take part and with four start and finish
points is very flexible. Complete all four sections and makes up a challenge
of 32 miles which will take 4 – 5 hours allowing for breaks. There are pubs
viewpoints and picnic spots along the way. Riders have a choice of four
start points. Riders can choose between Fareham, Gosport, Havant, &
Portsmouth. Riders set off at 09.00 am from 4 checkpoints and riders setting
off at Fareham will start at 09.30 a.m. We aim for all participants to
complete the ride by 5.00 p.m when checkpoints close .

Cox: Paper Engineers .
Summary : Famous for his
‘Paper People’ the artist Philip Cox was visiting artist at Portsmouth
Grammar School where he worked with Year 9 pupils to create life-sized
sculptures of ship-builders including the great IK Brunel himself! .
Description : The majority of the
figures are based on the work of Stanley Spencer, who painted the Clyde
Shipbuilders during World War 2. They are all made entirely of cardboard and
