North Harbour
Home of one of the largest computer companies in the world IBM.
The IBM Building can be seen from the M275 and has one of the best maintained grounds in the area. The lake is often
home to a large family of swans.
North Harbour was constructed mainly on a Land Fill site and used to be march
land.
- WARNING:
- The main access point to this area (the Marriott Roundabout) has been
changed to Traffic Lights, YOU MUST be in the right lane or you could end up
anywhere. Currently (2nd Nov 2003) the work has not been finished and the road
markings aren't much help, but the rule of thumb is left lane for left and
straight, right lane for right. As of 2nd March 2004 this STILL remains
unfinished, as has become known to the locals as the Junction from Hell. When
entering the junction from the M27/M275 you find that only the LEFT most lane
allows you to go left or straight on, the 2nd and third lanes only give access
to the IBM turning. Traffic has been seen going the wrong way up the
Southampton road after missing the road markings, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
